Cloudview Springbrook.

Cloudview Springbrook is neatly nestled within a rainforest. The architecture and interior design takes advantage of the rainforest views in each and every direction whilst also providing distance views beyond to the coast. The slope of the roof lifting upwards and out takes advantage of this very aspect. At night the centre of the roof is flooded with light from a sculptural pendant, allowing it to glow. Due to the property relying on tank water the roof slopes back towards the external central hall capturing each and every rain drop. This also allows easy maintenance to the roof and gutters. An important aspect when being surrounded by a rainforest. The selection of finishes for the interiors were kept black to allow the building to disappear amongst the rainforest, and to not take prominence over the landscape it surrounds. The overall design concept is about views, relaxing and cooking a good meals, as there are no restaurants on the mountain.
