DIGS Plumbing & Drainage collaborated with Homes NSW to deliver a reliable and sustainable stormwater solution for a newly developed senior living com munity in Pagewood, NSW. The project, consisting of eight residential units, required a drainage system that would not only manage the current stormwa ter demands but also provide long-term resilience. Located in an urban environment with high rain fall variability, the site demanded an innovative approach to stormwater management that balanced functionality with environmental responsibility
Challenge:
Stormwater management was a significant compo nent of the project due to the community’s location in a high-density area where water runoff can be chal lenging. The solution needed to address both peak f lows during heavy rain events and the long-term sustainability of water management for the senior community. Additionally, as part of Homes NSW’s commitment to sustainable and community-focused development, it was essential that the solution align with green building practices while ensuring reliability and low maintenance
Solution:
To meet these requirements, DIGS Plumbing & Drainage selected the Atlantis Flo-Tank® system for its versatility, durability, and environmental benefits. Over 270 Atlantis Flo-Tank® modules were installed across three large trenches, strategically positioned throughout the site. The system’s modular design allowed for both double and triple Flo-Tank® configurations, optimizing the space available and accommodating a range of water flow requirements.
The Flo-Tank® modules enabled DIGS Plumbing & Drainage to construct a high-capacity, under ground storage and infiltration system that supports efficient stormwater management, reducing surface runoff and promoting groundwater recharge. Atlantis Flo-Tanks® were specifically chosen for their high load-bearing capacity, ease of installation, and modular design, making it possible to seam lessly adjust the system to the unique specifications of the site.
Outcome:
The project successfully delivered a sustainable stormwater management solution that not only meets the immediate needs of the Pagewood community but also supports long-term water retention and discharge efficiency. The use of Atlantis Flo-Tank® modules provides a robust solution that aligns with the environmental goals of Homes NSW, ensuring effective drainage and reduced flood risk for the site’s residents.
