Pacific Amphitheatre.

MAKE Architecture proudly presents the Pacific Amphitheatre, an AIA Award-winning project that exemplifies modern design excellence. Following its temporary closure, the amphitheatre was reopened under OC Fair management, transforming it into a vibrant hub within their event facilities. The key challenge was to establish a practical and seamless connection between the 8,500-seat venue and the surrounding site, a task we addressed through a carefully crafted intervention that redefined the space’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Central to the design is a multifunctional outdoor plaza, carefully calibrated to enhance the user experience and foster community engagement. This 32,500 sq. ft. space integrates a new point of entry, restroom facilities, ticket kiosks, and an adaptable stage capable of hosting a variety of events. The plaza’s layout visually and physically links the fairgrounds with the amphitheatre, creating a dynamic flow that celebrates the venue’s role within the larger context. The striking lobby, featuring a diagrid façade and ceiling, acts as both an inviting entrance and a visual focal point, embodying modern elegance and functional sophistication.
