This non certified passive house features the five principles of a passive house: high insulation levels, air tightness, high performing windows (in this case uPVC triple glazed), mechanical heat recovery ventilation unit (in this case a Zehnder) and addressing thermal breaks. There are minimal costs for heating & cooling on those extreme days. Plus, solar panels have also been wired to limit energy requirements for other electrical appliances.

This house is constructed with structural insulated panels (EPS sandwiched between OSB board). These panels achieve air tightness effectively (with tapes and seals), have superior insulation that also wont slump over time. They are also very structurally strong and ductile (perfect for earthquake prone areas). They can span large distances making them ideal for large spaces or raking ceilings.

Additional features include polished concrete floor, eucalyptus feature ceilings, tiled and vinyl wrap feature walls, open raking ceilings, exterior louvres and smart lighting & security system.
