Architecture AND received 4th prize in an international competition for the design of Science Island, a major cultural institution in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The form has dual presences, both a building and a landscape, enriching and preserving the landscape of Nemunas Island in full.

Architecture AND congratulate the winning firm of SMAR and recognise the quality of the successful concept.

The sweep of the river is drawn into the interior, creating an experience of science and technology with nature always present.
