Hisel Flynn Architects

About
Hisel Flynn is a New England architecture studio founded by Dan Hisel and Katie Flynn. We design residential and mission-driven projects for clients who believe architecture should enrich how we live.
Guided by optimism, honesty, stewardship, and community, we think of architecture as a frame for celebrating everyday life. A window can sharpen morning light, a doorway can slow a transition. A long table can draw people together. When architecture clarifies space and its experience, it heightens the moments unfolding within it.
Much of our work begins with what already stands: mid-century homes, established neighborhoods, meaningful sites. We study what gives a place its character and extend it with care. We bring light into dark corners, refine circulation, and strengthen connections to the landscape. We balance proportion, practicality, and environmental responsibility in each decision.
We practice mission-driven modernism, designed for the long arc of a life in a place. Our buildings frame the ordinary with quiet generosity and leave people, places, and communities better than we found them.
